Ratings and Reviews

I bought this lens about 2 years ago. I found it to be a vast improvement over its previous version for autofocus and sharpness at the long end. I was happy with it as a "walk-around" wildlife lens until about 6 months ago. The accumulation of dust throughout its elements became very worrisome then and I stopped using it and switched to the G2 Tamron 150-600 which I find better built in regards to sealings. The 2nd gen 80-400 Nikon has been, without a doubt, the worst Nikon lens I've ever owned (zoom or otherwise) for dust collection on the inner elements. A very expensive dust-sucking pump. Extremely poor sealings...at least on my copy.
