Macro Photography Workshop with Todd Korol
  • Saturday March 17, 2012 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Location: Unit 210, 3060 9th Street SE Calgary AB

Join us for an exciting half-day macro photography workshop with editorial photographer Todd Korol. Have you ever wondered how photographers get those crisp detailed close up photographs? We will show you all the tips and tricks to do macro photography indoors and out. The first part of the course will be seminar style with a lecture and slide show explaining the fundamentals of macro photography.

During the seminar the following topics will be covered:

  • Features to look for in a macro lens
  •  Macro composition
  • Advantages and disadvantages of extension tubes
  • How different focal length macro lenses effect the look of your photos.
  • Using proper depth of field for the “look” you want to achieve.
  • Lighting for macro photography: from studio strobe lights to fill flash to using reflectors.
  • Dealing with the wind outside.

After the lecture and slide show, we will have several indoor photo stations set up, some with lights, some with reflectors so all students will get a turn shooting macro photography. The second half of the class will be hands-on shooting time for everyone in the class.

Requirements:
Bring a DSLR Camera and a memory card and a Macro lens if you have one. If not, we will have macro lenses for almost all camera systems for you to try out. You may bring your computer to download photos, but due to time constraints we will not be going over any type of workflow or computer programs, this is strictly a hands-on shooting course. *All photography will be indoors.

Please be advised that unfortunately the classroom facility is not equipped for wheelchair accessibility. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns at seminars@thecamerastore.com or 403-234-9935.

Tickets will not be shipped. Please print your final invoice for entry.
