Travel season is just around the corner, and soon, we will be enjoying summer trips to other cities, the mountains, lakes and more! Of course, when travelling, you’ll want to bring the best lenses you can, so TCSTV’s Dave took this challenge and found the Three Top Sony Lenses for Travel Photography! Each of the three lenses will give you the most flexibility for whatever shooting environments you may visit when travelling!
Sony FE 24-70mm f2.8 GM II – Most Versatile
The first lens Dave picked may not seem that impressive or exciting, but it is a super practical lens! The 24-70mm is incredibly sharp with a constant aperture of 2.8, which gives you beautiful background blur and low-light capabilities. There is also improved autofocus in the second generation. With the 24-70mm, Dave got decent compression and a little shallower depth of field, ideal for shooting head and shoulder portraits. Dave loves that this lens is a decent wide-angle but not too wide. The 70 millimetre is perfect for portraiture, and overall the lens is remarkably versatile for an array of photography styles!
Sony FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM – Big Wide Angle
Dave then chose this lens as a secondary lens to the 24-70mm. The 16-35mm is a beautiful wide-angle lens with a fast aperture and is exceptionally sharp. This lens is an excellent option for those who want to play around and be open to their surroundings when shooting, as it’s easier to visualize with a wide-angle. Dave loves the versatility of an ultra-wide lens, and the 16-35mm is precisely that, making it perfect for skyscapes, clouds, landscapes and even portraits!
Sony FE 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 G OSS – Compact Telephoto
The final lens Dave chose! Off the bat, he loves how the 70-300mm is not a lot different in size than the 24-60mm. Compared to the 200-600mm, the 70-300mm is much more compact and allows you to carry a smaller bag, ideal when travelling. Although small, it still has tremendous versatility for distant photography, walk-around photography and a lot in-between!
