The Through Each Others Eyes organization has brought together Peter Carroll and Royce Howland, from Alberta. As well as Colleen Miniuk-Sperry and Ken Ross, from Arizona, for an exciting travel photography project happening this summer. Combining their individual experience, vision and style, the group of four will work closely together during expeditions in both Alberta and Arizona creating new photographs as they interpret the common ground and contrasts between their home regions from the perspectives of both residents and visitors.

The TEOE is hosting a seminar called Travel Photography: Stories Instead of Snaps on July 14th, 2012 from 1-3PM. The two hour talk will be focused on helping you tell stories with your travel photographs.

Colleen, Ken, Peter and Royce will help you come home from your travels with images that tell the story of a land and its people rather than memory cards full of travel snaps. Come and join them as they tackle general photography challenges such as visualization and composition as well as travel photography issues such as photographing strangers and working natural light. Do you wonder what travel photographers pack in their camera bag? They'll cover that too.

Meet the TEOE Group:

Peter Carroll
Peter Carroll is a professional photographer specializing in stock, landscape, travel and portrait photography. He has been shooting professionally for 5 years. Peter’s photography journey started with a trip to Italy in 2004, wandering the back streets of Venice with a camera. In the years since, he has enjoyed developing his skills capturing the natural beauty of Western Canada and creating portraits in studio. Peter is represented by Getty Images, Corbis Images, FirstLight, All Canada Photos and other stock agencies who market and sell his images internationally. Peter loves life’s little moments and he aims to bring that passion to his work. He uses the camera as a tool to draw attention to what he sees as the extraordinary in the everyday. It is this focus on the beauty and wonder of life that drives him to pick up the camera and create images.

Colleen Miniuk-Sperry
As an award-winning, internationally published outdoor photographer, writer, Colleen Miniuk-Sperry supports a wide range of assignments for editorial clients, fine art, and stock. Her work has been published in National Geographic calendars, the Arizona Highways magazine, books, and calendars, AAA Highroads, Mushing Magazine, Lighthouse Digest, Experience AZ, InsideOutside Southwest, Sonora Es, Smith-Southwestern calendars, and a broad variety of other publications. In late 2011, she co-authored and published the book, “Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona’s Wildflowers, A Guide to When, Where, and How.”
Colleen will be at The Camera Store for a book signing on July 14th from 10AM-12PM.

He has been working as a professional photographer since 2008, and is an accredited member of the Profesional Photographers of Canada.
