Polar Worlds with Kyle Marquardt
Kyle Marquardt is hosting a photo seminar on his Antartica exploration at the Telus World of Science: Discovery Dome Theater on Monday November 23rd, 2009 in support of the Calgary Zoo Conservation Outreach Program.
Splitting time between guiding in the Polar Regions, and freelancing in Calgary, Alberta Photographer Kyle Marquardt spent four polar summers encompassing 30 expeditions in great places like Antarctica and the
southern seas, Greenland, Svalbard and the Canadian Arctic.
Inspired not just by the visions of these fantastic places but the grand biology, deep history and geology that shaped them. Traveling with geologists, biologists and ornithologists, it became apparent that these worlds are a lot more than snow, ice, penguins andpolar bears. Join Kyle on an edifying photographic journey that’s a little more than just pretty pictures.
