New Firmware Update for the Pentax K-7
Pentax has just announced the release of firmware version 1.01 for the K-7 which allows for additional customization of button functions.
A new option [Operate at AF point “SEL”] has been added to the [Custom] menu and, when selected offers the user two options [1 Calling Function Preference] or [2 Select AF point Preference].
When [1 Calling Function Preference] has been selected and the AF point switching dial is set to [SEL], a Calling Function can be operated with the four-way controller. When [2 Select AF point Preference] has been selected and the AF point switching dial is set to [SEL], selection of AF points can be operated with the four-way controller.
The update also adds improved focus point stability.
For example: on rare occasions when the left-end focus point is selected, the auto focus function may become unstable under particular shooting conditions.
The new firmware version is now available for download from the Pentax website.
